Fordow and the Bunker Buster Bomb

On Fordow and the Bunker Buster—

I had a question asked this week about Iran & Israel conflict and why the US would be involved. Clarifying information would be helpful.

Let’s take one narrow, specific question.

1. Why would US involvement be NECESSARY?

Not just as allies or political maneuvering—physically (tangibly, not even boots on the ground but physical hardware), militarily necessary.

Bunker Busters. That’s why.

Lol…hear me out, but…I give you Top Gun Maverick. Seriously. That movie plot came from this exact scenario. I kid you not.
—A mission only Americans can accomplish, nuclear processing buried deep underground with shockingly difficult terrain all around, that requires two teams with initial strikes to expose and unearth, secondary strikes to penetrate all the way down? To prevent a “rogue nation” from nuclear capabilities? Sound familiar?

US bunker busters, like the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), are specialized weapons designed to destroy deeply buried, heavily fortified targets.

Why do we have them?

Because nations like Iran and North Korea have developed deeply buried facilities to protect nuclear programs, missile stockpiles, or leadership bunkers…100+ feet underground.
BUT Iran’s nuclear facilities like Natanz or Fordow are reportedly buried even deeper, necessitating the MOP (30,000 lb warhead), which can penetrate up to 200 feet of earth or 60 feet of concrete.

Are we the only ones who have these weapons?

No. Maybe. Russia. China. They have similar. We think. But they aren’t exactly showing us their arsenal.
But among other “friendly” nations? Nope, just US.

And we DO NOT sell them or export them to others. That’s important to know because if they are used it is US alone who uses them. Only we have the bombers that can carry them, the systems to accurately use them.
They ARE NOT universal.

And I say again, why do we have them?

Because Iran has ALWAYS been doing these things:

💣 Burying their weapons deeper and deeper to prevent accountability or interference.
💣 Ignoring all regulations to limit their nuclear capabilities.
💣 Enriching uranium to levels far beyond any ethical or benign levels needed for energy. Weapons grade. They are going for weapons grade.
💣 Promising to use nuclear weapons on Israel and the US.

Back to Maverick…is it a cinematic, loosely inspired, glammed-up “Goosey” Hollywood tale? Yes.
It’s not exact. But the plot is useful.

If for no other reason, it should let you know this storyline has been around a good while…long enough to be fairly accurately portrayed in a movie.

This is not a new threat that emerged under or was caused by Trump.

The Iran Nuclear Deal under Obama was lovely on paper and a joke in reality. Promises made by liars are as helpful as you might imagine.

Obama-Biden funded the nuclear weapons being built to use against us and Israel. They funded Iran’s proxied, sponsored terrorists when they gave a plane load of cash “earmarked for humanitarian use” to one of the world’s greatest enemies.

I’m obviously no expert but common sense would tell even me—someone will have to confront them or stop them.

**To clarify, I’m not a fan of America’s past color wars for regime change. I’m not hawking for war even now, I’m simply saying this is the reality of our enemy, their weapons, and the weapons needed to neutralize them.

We can let Israel slow them down only to fight them again another day. Or our weapons stop them and we hope/help the people of Iran oust their leaders. Those are the choices.

Iran is run by a theocratic terrorist regime—they will not be bought or brought into peace and harmony. They don’t respond to diplomacy and they keep no promises. That is the nature of our enemy—unrelenting, undeterred, and absolutely unfit for power.
Or nuclear weapons.
