Hatmaker, Hitmen, & Antisemitic Assassinations in America

Dear Rest of the World, Not all of us over here have lost our souls… but discernment, wisdom, moral clarity…and now the lives of two young people? Those are definitely gone.

My original post for today was a rebuke–a rebuke of Scott Pelley’s shrieking commencement speech and Jen Hatmaker’s apology to the world for the shame she feels on behalf of an entire country over our president and his actions.

Let’s start with Pelley. As a Red Raider myself, Scott Pelley is the alumnus I am most embarrassed about. Give. Me. A. Break. In the words of West Texas and Shakespeare, whom Pelley tried to channel with his melodramatic nonsense…”yellow-bellied, lily-livered, sidewinding, bottom-feeder,” is what comes to mind. An opportunistic, slick, coward.

I have never seen someone more pusillanimous or puffed-up at the same time. It’s a rare and difficult-to-accomplish combination of lesser traits.

Pelley, like Jen Hatmaker–the left’s favorite Christian for her lack of Christian ethos, painted the grimmest picture of a nation, devolved into such recent evil that all should fear for their lives and futures. “It’s war!” According to Pelley, you must be at war to save democracy. Though the left’s favorite journalists admitted on weekend news shows how undemocratic the Democrats became while covering Biden’s decline. All done out of fear and in the name of “Save Democracy!” It’s as though there is a pattern…because there is. It’s on purpose, y’all. Even Pelley’s toil and trouble rant. It is directed at young people, whom he intends to motivate to action.

They stoke fear and demand action until, sure enough–some lunatic takes action.

Which is what happened Thursday in Washington D.C.

As for Hatmaker, in her open letter she laments these things:

  • Trump threatening ethnic cleansing in Gaza
  • An EO to end birthright citizenship
  • Dismantling the USAID
  • Withdrawing the US from World Health Organizations…among other things.

According to Hatmaker, “we are in hell.” According to Hatmaker we are all in mourning and afraid for our lives, “stuck in a dystopian nightmare,” mostly due to things Donald Trump has said and not necessarily done.

In fairness, I don’t like everything the president says or does. I don’t see the point of Twitter grievances with celebrities, and I do wish the campaign stump speeches could be traded for soaring inspirational oratory. And even as one who voted for Trump, I do not agree with every policy decision.

But to think that this period alone is the reason for our shame as a nation is patently ridiculous.

This is the view often taken when virtue signaling rather than true virtue has become one’s standard. Jen Hatmaker grieves the embarrassment of not being seen as a good neighbor to the rest of the world and longs for the days when we “looked like better neighbors,” whether we actually were or not.

Do you seriously not see how much of the action taken right now is necessary and corrective? This is the view of one who views government as God and thus every institution of it holy.

While the USAID may have been largely beneficial, it is also largely corrupt and has been used to siphon billions off of one nation and not necessarily onto other nations, but to individuals through foundations and fraudulent aid. This is known. Getting an appropriate handle on what is good and what is bad, will unfortunately be costly. And much of the cost carried by those who received legitimate aid.

The World Health Organization?? Are we truly going to presume, even after what we experienced through COVID, that this institution is inherently good and benevolent? In no way used for political power and gain?

Where is the love and lament for all other evil or the evil that happened prior? Or was there none? Everything prior was just and good? Is that really the argument to be made?

Where is the lament for the humiliation we feel now that it has been exposed with certainty that our last president was not functioning or fit to serve and the public was lied to for anywhere from four to six years about his health?

Where is the lament for the tens of thousands of children trafficked into our nation and who are now unaccounted for within our borders?

Where is the lament over the confusion and evil we have thrust onto our children as we allowed creation and God’s design to be mocked and mutilated in their mind and bodies?

Where is the lament for the lies used to create fear and a legitimate mental health crisis purely for political theater? This whole letter proof their efficacy.

Where is the lament for the way killers are elevated and celebrated, like Luigi Mangioni or those who attempted to assassinate Trump? Hatmaker’s letter though not calling for violence in any way certainly makes room for action, however that is defined to be taken…because we are just so hopelessly evil.

Our president despises vulnerable people and goodness and mercy and cooperation, but most of us don’t. We remain stunned at his cruelty and ignorance. You’d think we would be used to this by now, but somehow every day is still astounding. We’ve never watched an American president raze democracy, decency, intelligence, and civil rights with such speed and unchecked power…We are hoping to survive the next three and half years without losing our country and irreparably harming yours. In the meantime, please know that so many Americans are fighting from the inside over here, and we love and respect our global friends. –Thank you as you support us as we fight fascism.

Are you kidding me?? How dare you use the language of radicals then act surprised when it gets radical responses.

When you are broadcasting to millions that the wise among us fear we may not survive and that our country is so morally lost it is a danger to others… By heaping such condemnation, you are inviting people to repond with action, to take up the “good fight” on behalf of the marginalized and suffering. Never mind that what is good and bad have been purposely clouded and distorted. In this rhetoric, “good” must respond to “bad.”

And last night someone did.

On the evening of May 21, 2025, two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., were fatally shot outside the Capital Jewish Museum. The victims were identified as Yaron Lischinsky, 28, and Sarah Milgrim. Lischinsky, an Israeli citizen, served as a research assistant in the embassy’s Political Department. Milgrim, an American, worked in the Public Diplomacy Department, coordinating community relations and visits to Israel. The couple had recently attended an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee at the museum.

The shooting occurred around 9:08 p.m. local time. The suspect, identified as Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, was observed pacing outside the museum before approaching a group of four individuals and opening fire. Rodriguez was apprehended at the scene by event security after briefly entering the museum and discarding his weapon. Witnesses reported that he chantedFree, free Palestinewhile being taken into custody.

Law enforcement officials described the attack as targeted. Rodriguez had no prior criminal record or known affiliations with extremist groups. The motive for the attack is under investigation, though pretty plainly laid out in Rodriguez manifesto, which quoted Hamas propaganda sources for much of it.

Antisemitic terrorism has found a home in the U.S. and did so long before today.

Will there be a letter to readers grieving that? Were there letters grieving the fact that hostages are still being held by Hamas? I believe today is Day 600 for those that remain.

Lischinsky and Milgrim were reportedly planning to become engaged during an upcoming trip to Jerusalem. But their life, love, and value were not seen…they were the enemy by association. Were they part of the “fascism” you are fighting?

According to the chants across American universities calling for “intifada!” According to lawmakers and influencers who see only one side. Hatmaker doesn’t even see that she is seeing these things through only the lens of oppressor and the oppressed.

There was no injustice before. There is only injustice now.

There was no corruption before. There is only corruption now.

Women have lost autonomy, but children have not lost their lives through abortion? The only victims are defined by whomever is in the current marginalized class. Girls in sports? Not victims. Boys impersonating girls in sports? Victims.

What deceptive and godless insanity.

Dear Rest of the World, not all of us here have lost our souls. Some are just blinded by Marxism.
