The FBI Cannot Be Trusted

Between Hurricane Helene and presidential campaigns, there is hardly any airspace for other news stories. But this should have made the headlines.

Yesterday, I watched a little over two hours of CSPAN which is pretty nerdy even for me. It was a hearing of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. And it was infuriating.

The hearing examined how the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has used its security clearance adjudication process to purge its ranks of conservatives and whistleblowers, and unlawfully punish those with views contrary to FBI leadership.

Here is an excerpt from the testimony of Marcus Allen, Former Staff Operations Specialist and FBI Whistleblower.

Almost exactly three years ago today, I forwarded news articles to my superiors and others within the FBI about January 6th. It was literally one of my job duties to keep my
colleagues informed about open-source intelligence related to their cases. As a result simply doing my job, the FBI accused me of promoting “conspiratorial views” and
“unreliable information.” The FBI questioned my allegiance to the United States, suspended my security clearance, suspended my pay, and refused to allow me to obtain
outside employment or even accept charity.

The suspension ultimately lasted for 27 months. During that time, the FBI held my family and me in indefinite limbo awaiting a final decision. Imagine the daily uncertainty about
providing for your family, the emotional toll of explaining to your children why their father can’t work, or the stress of wondering how you’ll cover medical bills or keep a roof
over your heads.

Determined to not lose our home, my wife and I took early withdrawals from our retirement accounts to survive. It became clear that the FBI, with endless resources, was
trying to destroy me financially so that I would give up. There are no words strong enough to describe the impact the FBI’s lies about me have had on me and my family.

The stress has taken a toll on our health, and our children have suffered. Our savings and retirement accounts are decimated and my career as an intelligence professional is forever tarnished.

27 months. The FBI withheld pay, prevented him from seeking ANY other employment, and prevented him from receiving charity through his church or other means of benevolence.

What was the whistle he blew? He raised concerns about the FBI Director’s January 6th testimony.

Specifically, Allen believed there was a lack of transparency and accountability in the failure to disclose how many FBI assets or confidential informants were at the capitol on J6. Allen’s supervisor, Jeffrey Veltri, initiated the investigation into Allen as an unpatriotic, religious extremist. And though the investigation into the treatment of Marcus Allen showed unethical, immoral, and unlawful treatment, Veltri was promoted to be the head of the Miami field office and is leading the investigation into the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Because absolutely no one rewards incompetence and corruption like Democrats.

27 months with no accountability or oversight, no due process. The FBI could have retaliated against Marcus Allen and other whistleblowers indefinitely. Even now, after wrongdoing was found, judgment made, and the entirety of backpay awarded to Allen in June, it still hasn’t been paid.

This is the FBI. They do what they want, when and how they want and not even congress can stop them.

The Inspector General’s Office, which began an investigation over 3 years ago into just how many FBI assets were “undercover” at the capitol on J6, said their review would not be complete before the election in November but would likely be ready before the next inauguration. Isn’t that just amazingly helpful? Our agencies and institutions have been thoroughly corrupted and compromised. There is an unelected government within our government that successfully evades scrutiny or accountability and can deny someone due process indefinitely. In Marcus Allen’s words, “there is no limit to what they can do.”

During the almost three-hour hearing, Democrats never addressed Allen, the Inspector General, or another witness who aggressed on Allen’s behalf. They had their own witness. Every single Democrat refused to acknowledge the hearing taking place, or what had been done to Marcus Allen. They spoke only to their witness and every question was about the danger of Project 2025 and the threat of Trump weaponizing the government against his adversaries.

Allen’s closing remarks were particularly chilling and essentially asserted that he has no confidence whatsoever that the FBI desires to or will reign itself in or submit to any authority.

Allen has held a top-secret security clearance since 2001. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 2000 to 2005, was deployed to Kuwait, served two tours in Iraq, and was the Charlotte FBI field office employee of the year in 2019. In his final words to the committee, he urged Americans to vote rather than forfeit their right, arm themselves and be able to defend themselves, stock up on food, and pray. Let that sink in for a bit.

Vote. Buy ammo. Stockpile food. Pray. I believe that seems like pretty sound intelligence.
