Let Freedom Ring!
Satan is winning.
As long as we are whining and worrying, he wins.
So many things to be vexed by, saddened by, or seemingly looming large over our heads. And the reality is—so what?
There, there dear. I’m not being glib or indifferent. This is me being anchored and optimistic! In fact, I am Pollyanna-ing the heck out of life right now.
Fear is one of my many weaknesses and a favorite target for the enemy. And in my battle to be brave, one of the best strategies I’ve learned for defeating fear is: WALK. IT. OUT.
Play a game of “So What & What If?”
Without exception, regardless the fear, if walked all the way out–I meet Jesus in Heaven every time. That said–truly, so what, or whom, shall I fear?
What if this one wins or that one wins the election? What if they keep their promises or don’t? What if we change directions or run faster towards the edge of the cliff?
Friend, no matter.
No outcome has God scrambling. No person or party has Him abandoning His plans and throwing together a B, C, or D option. There are no “gotcha moments” in His Kingdom, where He finds himself unprepared or at the mercy of another…at the mercy of us and our foolishness. Ha! As if!
Hey Salty Lad and Lady–God never looks down and finds His will not working exactly as it should.
How many generations had only the promises of the Messiah to hope in and WE have the fulfillment?
If God orchestrated and ordained events so thoughtfully and lovingly then, would He not be just as able now? God has been faithful for eternity, He was no less so in 2020, or 2022, or now.
We can fear what we can’t control or predict–or we can commit to honoring Him with the things we can control.
Like our attitude, actions, courage, convictions, responsibilities, and responses. But we can’t do both.
What if there is more persecution? He will deliver us and be glorified. He will use it to give life and fire to the Gospel, as more are saved through suffering.
What if the economy gets worse? He will provide.
What if there is inconvenience and intolerance? His grace will be sufficient.
What if our enemies surround us? He is a Tower, a Refuge–our present Help in trouble.
What if America grows darker still? He has planned for that and put you here to be light.
What if the world drifts farther from God? He will send us out to reach them. He reveals Himself in all things, to all people. And no distance or depravity will prevent Him from returning.
What if everything changes and I don’t know what to do? He never changes. He gives wisdom. He will equip. He is trustworthy. He loves me and my family. And my enemies.
What if there is a greater cost to following Christ? He is worth it.
What if it costs me my life? He will greet me.
Hey friend–God knew there would be wars and walls, links and locks, and you wouldn’t always be the one holding the key. Yet He says you ARE FREE.
A million “what ifs” and none of them change our God, His will, His plans, His goodness, His ability to save or deliver anyone.
The TRUTH shall set you free.
CHRIST has made us free.
Where the SPIRIT of the Lord is… say it with me…”There is freedom.”
In jails, in cells, in captivity…His joy is not bound to your circumstances. His liberty is far more than fireworks and a day off work. And our response should be far more than patriotism. It should be obedience.
What if we faced whatever the future brings with hope, faithfulness, peace, patience, gentleness, boldness, bravery, and love? What if we walked that all the way out?
“What ifs” are no match for HE IS.
He is. He is trustworthy. He is faithful. He is good. He is worthy.
Knowing this–IS FREEDOM.
Let freedom ring, baby. And ring, and ring!
Amen, sister. Praise GOD!
And while you mention Plan B, C, and D, what do you think of the new currencies on the world scene: BRICS and CBDC. They are the latest in the financial markets. BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, China, and South Africa, a conglomeration of forty-one countries that want their own currency. And CBDC stands for Central Bank Digital Currency, another conglomeration of one fifty countries that will meet at a summit in August to make their decision on a currency that may topple the U.S. dollar. Whew! But, as you say, we do not have to fear or worry. The birds don’t; they get their bread and worm. Just trust in the LORD.
What an era in which we live. I hope to be gone on to glory for some of the future events on mankind.
But those left behind will have to decide about the mark of the beast. (He is the bad one.) Revelation 13
The people in the capital city must decide to be righteous, so that they can receive a mark from the man clothed in linen. (He is the good one.) Ezekiel 9
144,000 male Jewish evangelists will have the name of the Lamb’s Father written in their foreheads. (God is definitely good.) Revelation 14
But it does not bode well for those with the wrong mark:
“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name…”
The Lord Jesus succinctly put it, ‘Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.’ Man would do well to follow that advice.
